Fabio Quartararo n’a pas perdu de temps. Rentré en vitesse de Jerez, lundi, pour passer des examens médicaux en France, il a subi une intervention chirurgicale de l’avant-bras droit ce mardi, à l’hôpital d’Aix-en-Provence. L’opération avait pour but de débloquer son artère cubitale, dont il a souffert lors du Grand Prix d’Espagne.
« Fabio Quartararo a été opéré avec succès du syndrome des loges (ou ‘arm pump’) aujourd’hui au centre hospitalier d’Aix-en-Provence, a fait savoir son équipe en début d’après-midi. Il est prévu qu’il soit à nouveau ‘fit’ pour le Grand Prix de France, organisé du 14 au 16 mai. »
« Une seule chose en tête, la prochaine course à domicile », complète le pilote Monster Energy Yamaha, qui devrait pouvoir reprendre le sport d’ici quelques jours. « Les docteurs m’ont dit que l’opération pour l’arm pump s’était très bien passée. J’ai vraiment hâte de commencer à travailler sur le bras cette semaine pour être à 100 % pour Le Mans. Je me sens très positif concernant ma récupération et je suis impatient de retrouver ma M1. »
