Valentino Rossi est monté pour la première fois sur la Yamaha YZR-M1 aux couleurs du Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team ce samedi.
Chaque pré-saison de MotoGP a ses événements marquants, ses moments forts. Cette année, l’un d’entre eux est le suivi des premiers pas de Valentino Rossi dans sa nouvelle équipe, le Petronas Yamaha SRT. Membre de teams officiels depuis une vingtaine d’années (2002-2020), le nonuple champion du monde fait désormais partie d’une équipe satellite. Sa moto reste cependant la même que celle fournie aux pilotes officiels, et il bénéficie du soutien de l’usine Yamaha.
Ce samedi 6 mars, jour du coup d’envoi du test officiel du Qatar, a aussi été celui des premiers tours de Valentino Rossi avec ses nouvelles couleurs. L’Italien est sorti en piste aux environs de 14h (16h au circuit de Losail), pour un premier run de mise en jambes. La piste de Losail est toujours ouverte aux pilotes à l’heure où sont écrites ces lignes. Valentino Rossi en est à 54 tours bouclés, avec un meilleur chrono en 1’55.584 qui lui octroie la 13e place.
